PPU-10 A Power and Control Unit for two Milab DM-1001 Digital microphones.
This is more than digital microphones.
Connect it to the digital input at a DAT recorder, Computer or some other digital storage and you have all you need for a complete digital stereo recording system.
With the Unit in Stereo position the two microphones would be mixed together and send as a Stereo signal to the output. Ideal for A/B or X/Y set-ups. With the remote controlled and direct responding polar pattern, the settings for best direct and ambient sound is easy to find out.
In the MS position the two microphones are MS-calculated and send as Left and Right information to the output. Assuming that microphone 2 is set in figure-of-eight position. With the gain control for the S signal itxs possible to settle the stereo width.
Of course there is a Mono position where the microphones go direct to there separately output.
For easy connection to other equipment there are both AES and S/PDIF outputs. And the Unit works with 44.1, 48, 96 kHz clock or the word clock input. Itxs a 24-bit system but for the typical DAT recorder there is 16-bit dithering. As with the mono unit the microphones polar pattern, filter, analog pad and digital gain is controllable from a PC with the included software.
